I moved to Windham in 2011 and currently live in South Windham with my wife Emily and our three kids: a 5th grader at Manchester, a two-year-old, and an 8-month-old. Whenever I find myself with free time, I ensure that it is spent with my family. As a family we enjoy planning adventures and vacations like camping throughout Maine and NH. I enjoy being involved in my community which includes coaching softball for Windham Little League. The passion and dedication I have drives me to be an advocate for our children and our community.
I graduated from Purdue University in Indianapolis, Indiana with a degree in Business Management. While serving on the Undergraduate Student Government, I focused on student engagement in the community by planning volunteer events in low-income areas. I also worked with IUPUI Basketball Coach, Ron Hunter & Samaritans’ Feet to coordinate campus involvement to raise awareness for the world’s impoverished children. This was the first ever sporting event that a professional game was coached barefoot, and we raised over 110,000 pairs of donated shoes.
My professional path started in medical sales, which progressed into Global Marketing, Sales Training, VP of Sales, and currently I hold a position in surgical sales. While working in Global Marketing, I traveled to 33 countries, and participated in the One Young World Conference in Bangkok to better understand cultures and how we can collaborate to unite the world. I also worked with R&D to develop and launch a medical device worldwide that gave doctors immediate results for diagnosing patients having a heart attack and presented at an international conference in Dubai with representatives from 50 countries.
I first considered running for local office when I was collecting signatures for the People’s Recall Ordinance Petition this summer at the Post Office. It became very evident to me that Windham is a community of love and pride in our town, however many of the people I had the opportunity to meet with during my volunteer time, expressed their unhappiness with the direction that our town is very quickly headed in. I have noticed a lack of transparency and ethics in our Town Council. It has also become very evident that many Councilors often run unopposed and that is a major issue that needs to be addressed and challenged. I believe that the integrity, passion, and business expertise I have gathered over the past 15 years, have equipped me to make a meaningful impact on the Town Council and I turn help improve people’s lives in Windham and truly focus on the core values that make Windham the amazing community it is.
My primary focus will be Controlled Growth. While growth is inevitable and necessary, it should reflect the goals of the town, be well-planned, and paced. While service on the town council, I will look for ways to control the increases with our property taxes in the coming years and will not support any project that doesn’t directly benefit our taxpayers. I will maintain transparency in ongoing projects or any information that is public, because the town council needs to focus on one of its primary roles which is to serve its constituents. Decisions for the town should be made with an open dialogue and full transparency with the town and its citizens best interest at the forefront of those discussions. With open communication and our community's well-being as the primary focus, the best ideas will prevail. I am determined to make sure that the voices of Windham’s residents are heard and valued, because the residents are truly the backbone of our community and they deserve a seat at the table.
